Professionally designed to provide modern standards of comfort in traditional surroundings, the Byron Hotel occupies two connected Victorian townhouses, both of which have white stucco façades. The columns at the main entrance support an attractively carved pediment. Although a small area, with limited seating and pale green décor, the lobby is cosy and welcoming. Every one of the 45 guestrooms is named after an English Country House. Well appointed, with matching fabrics to give a luxurious feel, the bedrooms are clean and decently maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. The hotel’s breakfast room is enhanced by pine furniture and stained glass windows. Here guests can enjoy a Continental buffet every morning between from 7.30am till 9.45am (8.00am till 10.30 on Sundays).
